French but not country

I love french style chairs. I love great fabric. Now if only I knew how to put those two things together. I would love to learn to reupholster furniture. The first chair pictured is beautiful but needs a face lift. The second two are more on the right track.

I often see great bones but ugly skin. I just hate to see good french go bad. (i.e. FRENCH COUNTRY!!!) That was probably the worst design idea ever! (Runner up: Burgundy, Hunter Green and Navy Blue combos)

This is something I came across yesterday during my quest to find wallpaper for my foyer. Graham & Brown has the sexiest, swankiest, most fashion forward wallpapers I've seen yet. They even have paintables you can put on your ceiling or walls. And the price is unbeatable for such style. I will probably be making my next purchase here unless I find better. But somehow I find it highly unlikely.
